Indexed description

LMK Recruiting is working with a growing company that is seeking a Logistics Manager with experience in 3PL Operations & Process Optimization to join their entrepreneurial and dynamic team. This role is a strategic consolidation of two previously separate positions, Logistics Manager and Operations Specialist. As such, we are looking for a proactive leader who thrives in an environment without a defined playbook and operates with a "don't ask permission, ask forgiveness" attitude.

The Logistics Manager will own day-to-day execution and performance of North America 3PL operations (specifically managing our partner, GXO, and UPS account management), ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong service levels across order fulfillment, inventory, and returns.

The Role Strategy

This is a hands-on role that balances execution with optimization. A successful candidate will manage their day with a 50/50 split: spending approximately 2–4 hours on essential "grunt work" (order processing) and the remainder of the day focused on process improvement and 3PL strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operations with the North America 3PL partner (GXO).
  • Directly manage Amazon 1P orders via Vendor Central as a primary function.
  • Oversee order processing, returns, inventory reconciliation, and scrap reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners, including Donna (EDI Manager), to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Monitor 3PL performance against KPIs and SLAs; identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues.
  • Standardize workflows to reduce errors, cycle time, and manual effort.
  • Drive root cause analysis to support the reduction of customer chargebacks.
  • Perform monthly 3PL invoice review and validation to identify and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Partner with Finance to quantify cost-saving initiatives and operational impact.

Qualifications & Mindset

  • 4–8 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required. Experience with NetSuite (ERP) and Vendor Central is highly preferred.
  • We are looking for an "engaged," high-energy individual who can work independently and make decisions on the fly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Schedule & Location

  • Primary Preference: Hybrid role based in Chicago, requiring in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday. Candidates should be located in Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin.
  • Remote Flexibility: We are open to fully remote candidates located in Los Angeles, New York, or Seattle for "incredible" talent who meet all high-level strategic requirements.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $90,000 – $110,000.
  • Bonus: Eligible for a performance-based bonus program.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package including medical, dental, and vision; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; and parental leave.
