In Canada, Transdev operates the Central Fraser Valley public transit system, connecting Abbotsford and Chilliwack. With 115 buses, two depots, and a team of 270 employees, we deliver reliable service to thousands of passengers every day.

We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to lead daily transit operations, support frontline leaders, and ensure safe, reliable service. What You’ll Do

  • Lead by example in building a strong safety culture, keeping safety front of mind in everything you do
  • Step in and support during emergency situations, helping keep operations running smoothly
  • Keep daily transit operations moving, overseeing dispatch, service monitoring, and coordination
  • Help ensure service runs on time and operators are set up for success each day
  • Keep a close eye on fleet readiness, including DVI completion
  • Jump in to support dispatch or scheduling when needed, no task too big or small
  • Lead and support a team of Transit Supervisors and frontline operators
  • Play a key role in hiring, onboarding, and developing new team members
  • Coach and support employees to help them succeed and grow
  • Handle employee matters with fairness, consistency, and professionalism
  • Support scheduling, routing, and staffing to keep service running efficiently
  • Monitor operational performance, investigate incidents, and resolve customer concerns
  • Share insights and updates through reports for internal teams and BC Transit
  • Collaborate with leaders to keep service reliable and continuously improving
  • Deliver training and share your knowledge with teams across the Central Fraser Valley
  • Step into leadership roles when needed, including supporting the AGM
  • Contribute ideas and insights that help shape how operations run

What You Bring

  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience in operations or transportation
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Strong people leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with dispatch, scheduling, or transit operations preferred
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Solid communication and decision-making skills

Valid driver’s license

  • $85,000 – $95,000 salary + annual bonus

Location & schedule

  • Abbotsford, BC
  • Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week with varying scheduled based on operational demand, occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
