Head Women's Basketball Coach – Walsh Jesuit High School

Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking dynamic and dedicated Women’s Basketball Coaches to lead and develop our program, with openings for both a Head Varsity Coach and a Head JV Coach. These positions report to the Athletic Director and are responsible for the leadership, organization, and development of an interscholastic basketball program. Responsibilities include coaching, supervising assistant coaches, and ensuring a positive, mission-aligned experience for all student athletes.

Responsibilities may include:

Program Leadership & Management:

• Lead and oversee all levels of the basketball program
• Establish and uphold program standards aligned with the Walsh Jesuit mission
• Supervise and support assistant coaches

Coaching & Athlete Development:

• Plan and conduct effective practices
• Teach fundamentals, skills, and game strategy
• Support development of all student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship and integrity
• Evaluate performance and adjust strategies

Program Operations:

• Manage tryouts, eligibility, and program logistics
• Oversee equipment, facilities, and off-season programming

Communication & Community:

• Communicate with athletes, parents, and school administration
• Represent the program positively within the school and community
• Participate in booster events and lead pre-season meetings

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure compliance with OHSAA regulations and school policies
• Prioritize student-athlete health and safety in all program activities
• Maintain required certifications
• Accurately document and report injuries

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a varsity-level head coach or significant basketball coaching experience
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to develop student-athletes both athletically and personally in a faith-based educational environment
