Job Description
The Finance and Records Department is seeking an experienced Senior Local Unit Analyst to provide expert financial and record‑keeping support across local units in the Pacific Area. This permanent full-time position based at the Pacific Area Office reports to the Area Local Unit Manager. This role serves as a trusted advisor and subject‑matter expert, ensuring sacred funds and records are administered accurately, professionally, and in alignment with Church policies and principles.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert‑level training and advisory support to local unit leaders, analysts, and clerks on finance and membership record‑keeping
- Ensure local unit compliance with Church financial and record‑keeping policies
- Support finance and membership audits, including resolution processes
- Prepare statistical, trend, and analytical reports to support informed decision‑making
- Assist Area Presidency and local leaders to prepare unit organization applications
- Contribute to the development and strengthening of internal controls and process improvements
- Troubleshoot Church applications and systems used by local units
- Provide support to regional and local unit offices as required
- Participate in complex projects impacting local unit operations across the Area
- Administers and controls large operational databases
- Assists with finding members whose location is unknown
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Higher degree, certification, or specialization required such as CPA, CMA, MBA, or equivalent
- Minimum eight years’ professional experience in business, accounting, finance, or a related field
- Extensive knowledge of Church financial and local unit record‑keeping policies, processes, and tools
- Strong understanding of Church governance, doctrine, and Handbook requirements, typically gained through ecclesiastical leadership experience
- Proven ability to analyse complex data, prepare reports, and present insights to senior leaders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English
- High‑level interpersonal skills with the ability to train, influence, and support leaders and colleagues
- Strong computer literacy, including Church systems and standard business applications
- Demonstrated integrity, sound judgement, and commitment to safeguarding sacred funds
