To strengthen our team of economists, we are currently looking for an
Economist specialised in Industrial policy / Innovation / Structural change
Main Tasks
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses on a variety of topics, including competitiveness, structural change, innovation and sustainability
- Contribute to the drafting of research reports, policy briefs, working papers, and presentations
- Develop and conduct your own research/policy projects on the topics mentioned above
- Lead research and policy projects
- Actively contribute to project acquisition (e.g. proposals, calls for tenders, etc.)
- Contribute to policy and academic debates
- Master’s degree in economics (or related fields of study)
- Interest in innovation, green transition, structural change, and industrial policies
- Pronounced interest in empirical and policy-relevant research
- Experience in research or consultancy is an advantage
- Experience in project acquisition and project leadership is a distinct advantage
- Capacity to design analytical frameworks and methodological approaches for research and policy-relevant studies
- Skills in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
- Excellent command of English
- Proactive attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to work independently

Initially, the contract will be offered for a fixed term of 18 months. Subject to a satisfactory probationary period, there is the possibility of a permanent appointment. The monthly gross salary for a full-time position (40 hours per week, paid 14 times per year) is €3,776, with the possibility of a higher salary depending on qualifications and experience.
