Role
We are seeking a highly driven Account Executive to support and progressively own day-to-day account performance, customer growth, and execution across key retail and foodservice accounts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and wants to develop into full account ownership and business leadership.
The Account Executive will support account management, forecasting, customer communication, service execution, new item launches, and business development initiatives while building the capability to independently manage accounts over time. This role will also contribute to new customer acquisition efforts from prospecting through launch execution.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Performance
- Support day-to-day management of assigned customer accounts
- Track sales performance, trends, and key business metrics
- Assist in managing revenue, margin, inventory, and service levels
- Help identify risks and opportunities to improve account performance
Growth & Business Development
- Support new SKU pitches, customer presentations, and sampling initiatives
- Identify growth opportunities and provide actionable recommendations
- Participate in customer discussions, category reviews, and business planning
- Support pipeline development and new account acquisition efforts
Forecasting & Demand Planning
- Support forecast validation, tracking, and alignment across teams
- Monitor demand trends and proactively flag risks or supply gaps
- Coordinate closely with demand planning and operations teams
Service Level & Inventory Management
- Monitor fill rates, Weeks of Supply (WOS), and inventory performance
- Escalate service risks proactively and support resolution efforts
- Help drive execution to maintain strong customer service levels
Customer Communication
- Support customer communication and meeting preparation
- Participate in customer calls and ensure timely follow-up on action items
- Gradually take ownership of smaller customer interactions and projects
Pricing & Commercial Support
- Build pricing analyses, proposals, and supporting business cases
- Support negotiations with data-driven insights and recommendations
Cross-Functional Execution
- Coordinate with sales, procurement, operations, and demand planning teams
- Track timelines, deliverables, and execution against commitments
- Drive follow-through and accountability across internal stakeholders
New Item Launches
- Support new product launches and customer onboarding activities
- Ensure operational readiness across all internal teams
- Monitor launch performance and resolve issues quickly and effectively
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Excel and business analysis tools preferred
- Experience in CPG, foodservice, retail, or supply chain environments is a plus
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Located in or willing to relocate to Charleston, SC
