Hedge Fund / Data Engineer - Geneva

Our client is a prestigious international hedge fund with over two decades of success in fixed income strategies. They are seeking a Data Engineer to join their Research and Technology team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to both technology and investment teams, and who is passionate about building reliable, scalable data systems.

As a Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in all the firm's core applications and infrastructure, including data platforms, analytics, and portfolio and risk systems, working in a dynamic environment where technology drives innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines supporting trading and business workflows
• Onboard and process new datasets in collaboration with developers, researchers, and investment teams
• Build a strong understanding of how data flows through systems, analytics, and the investment process
• Contribute to scalable data delivery services, APIs, and platforms

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of professional development experience (Python preferred; C#, Java, or C++ also relevant)
• 2+ years of experience working with databases and SQL
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming
• Experience with ETL/ELT tooling (e.g. Airflow, Dagster, dbt, or similar)
• Exposure to containerised applications; orchestration experience is a plus
• Comfortable working across the application stack
• Ability to work independently on complex problems
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills

Capital markets experience is beneficial but not required.
