Position Summary:

PWM is seeking a Technical Volume Lead for larger and more strategic pursuits. This role owns the technical, manufacturing, quality, and execution sections of major submissions and ensures those sections are compliant, persuasive, and aligned to the customer’s evaluation criteria.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead development of the technical response strategy for major bids.

Build section outlines, storyboards, content plans, and writing assignments for technical volumes.

Coordinate engineering, quality, operations, testing, and supply chain SMEs to produce complete technical content.

Ensure technical responses clearly address requirements, risks, manufacturability, quality assurance, and delivery readiness.

Resolve technical review comments and drive revisions through final submission.

Work closely with the proposal manager, solution engineer, and capture manager to keep the message consistent.

Support technical presentations, clarification responses, and post-submission follow-up where needed.

Help build standard technical language and reusable templates for future bids.


Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in technical proposal leadership, engineering leadership, operations leadership, or a similar role tied to strategic bids.

Strong ability to write, edit, and structure technical content for customer evaluation.

Practical understanding of manufacturing execution, quality systems, inspection/testing, and delivery planning.

Ability to lead cross-functional content teams under deadline.

Strong organization, review discipline, and issue-resolution skills.

Comfort working across technical and commercial stakeholders.

Ability to understand and respond directly to evaluation criteria and customer instructions.

Strong judgment on what makes a technical response credible and scoreable.


Preferred Qualifications:

Engineering degree, engineering technology diploma, or equivalent technical background.

Experience in defence, aerospace, OEM, or regulated manufacturing submissions.

APMP or similar proposal-process training.

Familiarity with AS9100, traceability, testing, and risk-management language.

Experience leading technical sections on high-value bids.
