Hellas, Inc., a TenCate company, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand market presence across the Greater Los Angeles, CA area.
Headquartered in Cedar Park, Texas, Hellas is the leading sports construction contractor in North America, specializing in the design, construction, and installation of sports facilities, synthetic turf systems, running tracks, sports lighting, and related infrastructure. As a fully integrated company, Hellas manages the entire project lifecycle, including manufacturing, construction, project management, and ongoing maintenance.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced, self-directed environment and is comfortable developing business across the assigned Greater Los Angeles territory.
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities within the assigned territory, with a focus on the Greater Los Angeles, CA area. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, executing strategic sales plans, and driving revenue through the sale of large-scale sports construction and sports lighting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development through proactive prospecting, lead generation, and territory management
- Travel approximately 75% throughout the assigned Greater Los Angeles territory to meet with clients, conduct site visits, and attend industry events
- Identify, qualify, and pursue sales opportunities aligned with company strategy
- Conduct sales presentations, meetings, and product demonstrations across turf, track, and sports lighting solutions
- Develop and execute territory-specific business plans to support growth objectives
- Lead value-based selling discussions, including ROI and long-term project benefits
- Maintain accurate and timely sales forecasts, including pipeline activity, deal status, and revenue projections
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Marketing, Operations, and Sales Leadership, to support project success
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the sales process
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and market conditions within the assigned territory
- Attend company meetings, trainings, trade shows, and industry events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proven experience in sales, including prospecting, qualifying, and closing new business
- Experience in construction, sports, sports lighting, or related industries preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a large geographic territory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience required
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; MVR required

- Base salary plus aggressive, uncapped commission structure
