What are we looking for?
We are seeking a talented and motivated university student to join our finance team as a Finance Data Analytics & Power BI Intern for a 7-month contract. The successful candidate will play a critical role in leveraging Power BI to improve reporting, controls, and operational efficiency within the finance department. Responsibilities will be centred on utilizing Power BI to enhance the accuracy, transparency, and efficiency of financial data reconciliation, with a particular focus on complex revenue streams such as forex, derivatives, and structured products.
Key Responsibilities & Achievements
Power BI Reconciliation:
- Assist in the reconciliation of net other income revenue, using Power BI to cross-validate accounting data from multiple sources (statutory and consolidation levels), ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Support the automation of reconciliation processes, reducing manual effort and minimizing errors in financial reporting.
- Collaborate with technical Power BI specialists to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports tailored for financial data reconciliation and control.
- Enhance real-time visibility for finance teams, enabling faster identification and resolution of reconciliation discrepancies.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of existing reconciliation workflows and lead discussions with key stakeholders to define and implement a target operating model, integrating Power BI as a core tool for reconciliation and reporting.
- Project manage the transformation of reconciliation processes, from requirements gathering to implementation and user training.
- Strengthen the Internal Control Signoff (ICS) process by embedding automated reconciliation checks within Power BI reports, supporting audit readiness and compliance with IFRS standards.
- Contribute to the update of the Accounting Manual, reflecting improved reconciliation practices and Power BI integration.
- Act as a bridge between finance, IT, and management teams, ensuring alignment of reconciliation objectives and smooth adoption of new Power BI tools.
- University student, preferably in Finance.
- Project management or Finance competencies (including basic knowledge of derivatives).
- Fluent in English.
- Rigorous, result-driven, and good relationship skills are required qualities for this position.
- Able to work from the Geneva Office, reporting to a UK – London based line manager.
