- This job is a member of the Cabin Systems Engineering Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
- Responsible for managing a technical organization with tactical and strategic decision making to support the engineering activities of the airline. This job is also responsible for managing efforts to continuously improve the products and processes of the organization.
- Responsible for the professional development of team members
- Troubleshoots chronic aircraft in the field
- Conducts major damage assessment and temporary repair development in the field
- Maintains awareness of all open engineering issues during assigned shift
- Delegates open engineering issues as required to ensure prompt resolution
- Provides engineering work scope for troubleshooting of operational issues to determine root cause and provide corrective action
- Creates solutions for recurring aircraft discrepancies
- Must be willing and able to work irregular hours and shift schedules including holidays and weekends.
- This is a day shift position with overnight support as needed.
- Acts as focal on addressing technical and process issues essential to the success of the Company
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required
- 8 years of experience as an Engineer in aviation
- 10 years of experience in aviation
- Master's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college/university
- Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to manage major projects on schedule
- Demonstrated skills in employee development
