Transportation Project Engineer
Location: Orlando, Florida, United States
Compensation: $115,000 – $145,000
A well-established engineering consultancy with a growing presence across Florida is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to join their Orlando office. The firm delivers a wide range of transportation, roadway, highway, and municipal infrastructure projects for FDOT, local municipalities, and public sector clients throughout the Southeast.
This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse transportation projects while taking on increasing responsibility in project delivery, technical design, and client coordination. You will operate as a Project Manager on smaller assignments and Project Engineer on larger, more complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of transportation, roadway, and highway engineering projects
- Prepare engineering reports, specifications, calculations, and construction plans
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across transportation infrastructure projects
- Support proposal preparation and business development activities
- Attend client and stakeholder meetings as required
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and delivery
- Mentor junior staff and support technical development within the team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 5–10+ years of transportation engineering experience
- PE license required or ability to obtain in Florida
- Experience on FDOT, municipal, county, or federally funded transportation projects
- Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Knowledge of FDOT standards and roadway design criteria preferred
- Strong communication and project coordination skills
Compensation & Benefits
