Senior Backend Developer

About The Role

We’re looking for a highly independent and curious Senior Backend Developer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on learning through documentation and exploration, enjoys understanding how complex systems communicate, and is passionate about aviation technology.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing critical backend services for our aviation-facing platforms. You’ll work across technologies, embrace versatile problem solving, and play a key role in making our . This is a hands-on development role with system design responsibilities, best suited to engineers who are proactive, versatile in programming, and excited about building infrastructure that powers airline operations at scale.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, multi-tenant backend services for booking and airline system integrations
• Work closely with the Group Architect to ensure sound architectural decisions, system cohesion, and performance
• Independently research and understand complex backend protocols and documentation in aviation and passenger service systems
• Build resilient, production-grade APIs and services that interact with third-party and proprietary airline systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product and QA to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable software
• Own the full lifecycle of your services, from design through deployment and monitoring
• Help shape and evolve backend engineering best practices in a high-performance team
• 5+ years of backend development experience in B2B SaaS or cloud-native environments
• Strong proficiency in Java and modern backend frameworks such as Spring Boot
• Proven experience designing and building microservices-based architectures
• Solid understanding of Clean Code, SOLID principles, and domain-driven design (DDD)
• Passion for system design and building distributed, high-availability systems
• Self-driven learner who actively explores new domains through documentation, specs, and experimentation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
