Summary:

A highly experienced Senior Specialist, Transportation Management to lead the strategic development and execution of inbound transportation operations supporting electric vehicle production initiatives.nThis role will be responsible for designing and implementing multimodal transportation strategies, leading Transportation Management System (TMS) deployment initiatives, managing RFx sourcing activities, and driving operational excellence across inbound logistics networks. The ideal candidate will have strong experience within automotive logistics, transportation sourcing, TMS implementation, and carrier/service provider management.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead deployment and optimization of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), including SAP TM and/or 4PL integrations

Define business and functional requirements for inbound logistics systems and ensure seamless integration with adjacent IT platforms

Drive cross-functional alignment supporting both pre-series and series vehicle production

Lead end-to-end RFx processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ) for transportation service providers

Prepare Statements of Work (SOW), pricing templates, sourcing documentation, and supplier evaluation criteria

Support contract negotiations and carrier selection activities

Manage logistics service providers and monitor operational KPIs

Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost optimization, efficiency, compliance, and service levels

Develop dashboards, reports, and KPI metrics for inbound logistics performance

Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, operations, and logistics planning teams

Develop and implement multimodal inbound transportation strategies covering: FTL, LTL, Small Parcel, Ocean Freight, Air Freight

Must-Have Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or Related field

Minimum 7 years of experience in inbound logistics planning

Strong experience within automotive manufacturing or automotive supply chain environments

Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills

Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication abilities

Deep expertise implementing and managing Transportation Management Systems (TMS) - SAP TM preferred

Professional background working with: FTL carriers, LTL carriers, Freight brokers

Hands-on experience with: RFx processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ), Transportation sourcing strategies, Contract development, Supplier bid analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of domestic and international transportation operations

Experience with logistics automation and visibility platforms

Experience supporting OEM or supplier logistics operations

Experience with:xD, MSTL, MR transportation models
