Role: Investment Associate, Real Assets

Type: Full-time

Location: Sydney CBD

Experience: 2 to 4 years

About the Organisation

Our client is a highly regarded investment group operating a multi-strategy platform across private equity, real assets, and growth capital. The Real Assets fund focuses on core-plus and core-plus-plus infrastructure, targeting assets that offer stable, long-duration returns with meaningful upside through active asset management and value creation.

The team is led by an exceptionally well-regarded director and is recognised as one of the stronger infrastructure investment teams in the Australian market. The culture is high-performance and collegiate, with a genuine commitment to developing talent. This is a rare opportunity to join a team of this calibre at analyst level.

The Role

A broad investment analyst role sitting across the newly established asset backet securities fund with secondary exposure to the growth equity mandate. The successful candidate will be involved across the full investment lifecycle, from origination and due diligence through to execution and ongoing asset management.

Financial modelling is central to the role. The team invests in complex infrastructure assets and expects analysts to build, own, and interrogate models independently. Strong modelling capability is a firm requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial modelling across core-plus and core-plus-plus infrastructure transactions, including DCF, asset-level, and fund-level models
  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis of prospective investments across infrastructure sectors including utilities, transport, social infrastructure, and digital assets
  • Conduct investment due diligence, coordinating across legal, financial, and technical workstreams
  • Prepare investment papers, IC materials, and transaction documentation
  • Support negotiation and execution of transactions
  • Ongoing monitoring and reporting of portfolio assets
  • Sector and thematic research to support origination and pipeline development
  • Support growth equity deal assessment where real asset or infrastructure characteristics underpin the thesis

Experience and Attributes

  • 2 to 4 years in infrastructure investing, infrastructure advisory, investment banking with infrastructure or energy coverage, or a closely adjacent discipline
  • Strong financial modelling skills built on live transaction experience; candidates must be able to speak credibly to model architecture and assumptions
  • Demonstrated experience working on infrastructure transactions from the buy side, sell side, or advisory
  • High academic achievement with a strong analytical and quantitative foundation
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to distil complex analysis into crisp investment narratives
  • Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a lean team environment
  • Full working rights in Australia

Why This Role

Direct exposure to high-quality deal flow across core-plus infrastructure with genuine asset management depth. Mentorship from a highly regarded senior leader with a strong market track record. A team that invests in its people and operates at the upper end of the market in both quality and culture.
