In this role, you will be involved in managing critical infrastructure inventory and asset collection project for 50+ key U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) sites. This position requires extensive travel and hands-on work to identify, document, and assess facility-related control systems. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong technical aptitude and the ability to work independently in various industrial environments.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Travel to assigned USCG facilities based on defined criticality within geographical regions to conduct a physical inventory of all facility-related control systems and associated hardware/software
- Accurately identify and document equipment details, including manufacturer, model, serial number, firmware version, operating systems and physical location
- Enter all collected data into a Configuration Management (CM) tool, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Run pre-defined scripts to gather system information on control system workstations and servers
- Work closely with on-site facility engineers and points of contact to locate equipment and understand system configurations
- Provide informal training and guidance to on-site personnel regarding cybersecurity hygiene and best practices for Operational Technology
- Prepare and submit regular reports on inventory status, site visit summaries, and any identified issues or discrepancies
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 75% or more) to various sites across the United States
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and solve problems as they arise on-site
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant System Administration experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Operational Technology (OT), SCADA, or Building Automation Systems (BAS); this includes familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and other control system components
- Experience running command-line scripts, troubleshoot basic network connectivity, and understand IT/OT system architecture
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with and train both technical and non-technical personnel
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection and entry into the configuration management tool
- Must have a current and active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- The person in this position must be able to walk extensively, climb ladders/stairs, and work in various industrial environments (hot, cold, noisy).
- Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
