Woodstock Community Unit School District 200, serving a diverse student population of approximately 6,700, is located in northwestern Chicagoland. District 200 is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Principal of Woodstock High School for the 2026-2027 school year.

An IL Principal license is required and administrative experience is preferred but not required. This is a 12-month position, with a starting salary range of $110,000 - $130,000. The benefits for this position include health insurance, dental insurance, term life insurance, vision insurance, and paid time off.

TITLE: Assistant Principal – High School

Qualifications

  • A master's degree and State of IL administrative license.
  • At least five years successful experience in public education, part of

which shall have been as a classroom teacher.

  • Supervisory or administrative experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred.
  • References must be provided.

REPORTS TO: High School Principal

JOB GOAL: To assist the principal in providing school-wide leadership in attaining the

mission, goals and objectives of the school and the district.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Assists the principal in the overall operation of the school.
  • Assists the principal in the evaluation of staff.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of a comprehensive educational program to

promote student learning.

  • Promotes a positive climate throughout the school by demonstrating a commitment to

students, staff, parents and the educational program.

  • Provides leadership in teaching techniques, innovation, and class organization.
  • Serves as a member of the PLC process and provides support and direction to the success of

this effort.

  • Acts on behalf of the principal in his/her absence.
  • Prepares reports as the principal may request.
  • Prepares drafts of needed rules or guidelines for review by the principal.
  • Reports on the status of school programs and activities as requested by the principal.
  • Communicates to the principal the requirements and needs of the school as perceived by

staff members.

  • Assists the principal in implementing emergency procedures.
  • Promotes staff morale.
  • Provides for his/her professional growth.
  • Supervises student discipline and attendance policies and procedures.
  • Supervises after school and weekend events such as athletic contests, dances, and club

activities.

  • Proposes schedule of classes.
  • Supervises the preparation of student schedules.
  • Assists department heads and faculty groups in compiling the annual budget requests.
  • Requisitions supplies and equipment, conducts inventories, maintains records and checks

on receipts of such material.

  • Serves with parent, faculty and student groups as requested in advancing educational and

related activities and objectives.

  • Performs such other duties and assures such other responsibilities as the principal may from

time-to-time assign.

Conditions Of Employment

Twelve month work year with salary and conditions established by the Board of Education.

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated annually by the building principal.
