Accounts Payable and Receivables Specialist

We are seeking a detail‑oriented professional to support sales tax compliance and business licensing activities. This role partners with internal teams, external vendors, and government jurisdictions to ensure accurate reporting, timely payments, and regulatory compliance across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, record, verify, analyse, and report accounts related to sales tax compliance and business licensing
• Partner with a third‑party co‑sourcing provider to support timely sales tax filings and remittances
• Coordinate and prepare General Ledger data uploads; review variances and resolve outstanding compliance items within deadlines
• Prepare journal entries and support General Ledger account reconciliations
• Maintain Excel tracking for licence renewals and payment activity
• Work with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory jurisdictions to obtain business licences and resolve licensing issues
• Prepare Accounts Payable (AP) payment requests
• Process mail, documentation requests, and respond to sales tax and business licence notices
• Apply for sales tax registrations for new locations
• Collaborate with internal and field teams to maintain accurate sales tax rates
• Prepare store open/close reports for reporting periods
• Support additional projects and documentation requests as needed

Required Qualifications

• Experience in sales tax compliance, accounting, or finance operations
• Working knowledge of General Ledger accounting and account reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and analysis
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Effective communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with third‑party tax or compliance providers
• Exposure to multi‑location or retail environments
• Familiarity with business licensing processes and jurisdictional requirements
