IT Specialist – Manufacturing Facility
Location: Princeton, Indiana
Position Summary
Our client, a well‑established manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced IT Specialist to support all aspects of Information Technology at their Indiana facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining stable, secure, and efficient IT systems that support production operations, plant administration, and alignment with corporate technology standards.
The IT Specialist will serve as the primary on‑site IT resource, acting as a key liaison between plant operations and corporate IT teams to ensure system reliability and minimal disruption to manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure and Systems Support
- Manage and support plant IT infrastructure including servers, network equipment, firewalls, switches, wireless systems, and endpoint devices
- Ensure availability and stability of production‑critical systems
- Perform routine system monitoring, backups, patching, and updates
- Coordinate with corporate IT on enterprise systems and infrastructure initiatives
Manufacturing Systems Support
- Support shop‑floor technology including production PCs, label printers, barcode scanners, and handheld devices
- Maintain connectivity and uptime for manufacturing equipment interfaces
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT‑related production interruptions to minimize downtime
- Support EDI, supplier portals, and customer‑specific system integrations as required
Help Desk and End‑User Support
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for plant users
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Manage user accounts, access, and permissions in accordance with corporate policies
- Deliver timely and effective resolution of hardware, software, and network issues
Cybersecurity and Compliance
- Maintain compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards and policies
- Implement and monitor endpoint protection and security controls
- Support IT audits, data security initiatives, and compliance requirements
- Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- 3–7 years of IT support experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking, and endpoint security tools
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional and corporate IT teams
