Senior Consultant

Job Purpose

ioMosaic is seeking an experienced chemical or process engineer to support our UK office, located in Bath, with its work in process and safety engineering design. The ideal candidate will have experience in the petrochemical and chemical industry. Our work typically involves problem-solving using various industry-standard software as well as our own proprietary Process Safety Office SuperChemsTM (refer to our website for further information). The individual must therefore be technically comfortable with using simulation software in a process engineering content. The individual must possess strong project management and people skills and be comfortable with writing proposals, interfacing with our clients, and delivering project work leading small teams of junior engineers.

The position will involve some travel away from the office to client sites as part of project delivery.

Duties And Responsibilities

The Sr. Consultant position will encompass duties that include, but are not limited to:

  • Pressure Relief and Flare Systems (PRFS) Design experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, and chemical industries.
  • Support HAZOP, HAZID, and other workshop-based activities (experience as a HAZOP leader is advantageous but not essential)
  • Supporting quantified risk analysis and safety verification studies
  • Supporting process safety audits and incident investigation activities
  • Writing articles, abstracts, and presenting at industry conferences.
  • Perform data analysis, process observations, and client interviews with the goal of identifying process barriers and opportunities.
  • Perform research, causal analysis, and formulate hypotheses on product, service, and process workflows.
  • Increase employee productivity by reducing workload fluctuations, developing tools, cross-training back-office staff, eliminating manual processes, adapting responsibilities to maximize employee skill sets, and driving employee accountability throughout key business processes.
  • Conduct incident investigations consistent with PSM requirements.
  • Assist in incorporating industry best practices in to our PHA program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical engineering
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 5+ years of demonstrable experience either within industry or with industry contractors and consultants
  • Note that the position is in-office.
  • Experience conducting LOPAs
  • Experience implementing HAZOP, Failure modes and effects analyses, What-If, and Checklist analyses
  • This role is based in Bath, UK. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
