ASPHALION is a leading international consulting firm in the growing pharmaceutical and biotech sector. We are looking for a Operations Manager in Barcelona who, serving on the direction committee, will be responsible for the following duties:
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with quality, service, and profitability standards for projects in different business areas (technical units).
- Oversee the profitability of operational technical areas, ensuring a balance between cost efficiency and service excellence.
- Monitor operating budgets and critical KPIs to ensure the sustainable growth of the company.
- Analyze and redesign current operational flows to improve efficiency and profitability through automation and advanced software.
- Analyze improvements in company processes and propose improvements through digitization and the implementation of new tools.
- Lead strategic meetings and coordinate area managers to meet the objectives set by the company.
- Organize and lead internal meetings to achieve previously set objectives.
- Demonstrate a strong affinity for digital innovation and AI, identifying growth opportunities and driving the adoption of digital tools, automation, and AI solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability across the business.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, guiding and developing cross-functional teams through training, coaching, and best-practice sharing to accelerate the adoption of new technologies and ways of working.
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences or related fields; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in senior operational leadership roles, preferably in pharma, biotech or consulting environments.
- Strong background in operations management, budget control and profitability optimization across multiple business areas.
- High level of spoken and written English (C1+)
- Solid knowledge of financial management, including P&L oversight, cost control and KPI monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, upskill and motivate multidisciplinary teams through technology-driven change.
- Strategic and hands-on leadership with experience working at executive committee level.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a results-driven mindset.
