The role demands excellent project management skills, as the incumbent will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through to successful completion and handover. Given the geographical spread of the portfolio, the Project Manager must be comfortable with and willing to travel to remote locations, including regional WA and the Indian Ocean Territories, to coordinate and oversee projects effectively.
An Overview of the role:
- Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of projects, primarily for government clients, with occasional support for private investor properties.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure for various project types including:
- Capital works delivery
- Structural improvements and remediation
- Sustainability initiatives
- Minor fit-outs
- Other commercial real estate services
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to mitigate risks and maintain project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout project execution.
- Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide clear, concise updates to clients, team members, and senior management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure all deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and industry standards.
- Manage change requests and scope adjustments, ensuring proper documentation and approvals are obtained.
- Oversee the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services required for project completion
- Ensure proper documentation of project activities, decisions, and lessons learned for future reference and knowledge sharing
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to project management and commercial real estate.
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Relevant industry-specific certifications (e.g., building and construction certifications) would be a plus.
