Full-Time Parent Liaison - 7.5 Hours Per Day

The parent liaison will meet with parents and provide information in order to encourage communication with parents/families and the community. The parent liaison will act as coordinator of the YCSD District-wide Parent Advocate Council and assist each building with the individual school PACs. The Title I Parent Liaison will work with the Federal Program Coordinator on Title I requirements and dissemination of essential Title I information to parents.
Essential Functions And Performance Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between the school and the parent/families of the school.
- Attend monthly meeting and in-service training with the Director of Student, School and Community Services
- Attend meetings and in-service training as needed with the Federal Program Coordinator.
- Deliver training to the parent community.
- Attend school and community meetings.
- Make personal contact with parents to encourage parental engagement.
- Provide information to parents/families in order to improve home-school communication.
- Work with the district's Director of Student, School and Community Services and Federal Program Coordinator to prepare progress reports and provide information to the district.
- Work with the principal to investigate complaints from parents/families and the community.
- Assist building-level PACs to draft and complete their Parent Compacts and Parent Policies
- Assist the District-Wide PAC to draft and complete (update) the district Parent Policy.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Must have a high school diploma, 2 years of college level education preferred.
- Five years of working with parents/families and community members.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with parents, schools, community and district office personnel.
- Skills in speaking, writing, and reading a second language predominant in the community is desirable.
- Pre-employment drug testing (self-paid)
- Child Abuse, PA State Police and FBI Clearances are required (self-paid)
- Act 126 & 71 and Bloodborne Pathogens certification.
