The Engineering Development Program (EDP) is a structured, two-year rotational program designed to accelerate the development of high-potential engineers in advanced casting manufacturing. This immersive program builds deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of CPP’s complex manufacturing systems in investment casting and related processes for critical aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.

Participants complete up to four targeted rotations across key functional areas, gaining hands-on experience in active production environments while solving real-world engineering challenges.

The EDP is a full-time, salaried position. This position will work at multiple U.S. based CPP locations, with rotations potentially involving cross-site assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in rotational assignments (typically 6–12 months each) in areas such as:
• Process Engineering
• Process Control Engineering
• Product Engineering
• Quality Engineering
• Facilities Engineering
• Operations - Supervision
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, and operations at your assigned home site.
• Engage in structured cross-site projects to gain exposure to CPP’s broader manufacturing network and systems.
• Apply engineering principles to troubleshoot production issues, optimize casting processes, improve quality and efficiency, and support the introduction of new products.
• Develop systems-level thinking and the ability to navigate technical and organizational boundaries in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrate practical problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and leadership potential through project execution and team contributions.
  

• Immersive cross-functional exposure to engineering, production, and manufacturing systems in world-class casting facilities.
• Build core competencies in advanced casting technologies (e.g., investment casting of superalloys, titanium, aluminum, and more).
• Foster long-term career growth through selected training, applied learning, mentorship, and organizational exposure.
• Prepare for future roles as either individual technical contributors or leaders/managers within CPP.

Successful completion of the EDP positions participants for accelerated advancement into more senior technical specialist, engineering leadership, or management roles across CPP’s global operations. The program’s rotational design, cross-site collaboration, and focus on real production impact equip graduates with the experience, judgment, and impact-driving skills needed to excel in advanced manufacturing.

Education

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Strong academic performance and demonstrated interest in manufacturing, casting processes, or aerospace/defense industries.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in team environments and adapt to dynamic production settings.
• Willingness to relocate for rotations (as needed) and travel for cross-site collaboration.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may be required for certain roles due to defense/aerospace regulations (specifics vary by site).
