Assistant Director of Residence Life

The Assistant Director of Residence Life (ADRL) is a 12-month, live-in position with on-call responsibilities. This role is essential in creating a safe, clean, and engaging on-campus residential experience for students. The ADRL oversees residential programming; recruits, trains, and supervises nine Resident Assistants across two residence halls; manages residential crises; and leads initiatives to education students about off-campus housing. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students, the ADRL serves as an integral member of the Division of Student Affairs and contributes to the overall success of the student residential community.

• Demonstrated ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and external agencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds and at varying levels of leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to operate effectively both independently and as a team member.
• Ability to show a high level of sensitivity and collegiality in working with the CIA community to build collaborative relationships characterized by mutual respect, trust, and commitment to shared goals.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel, or Counseling preferred
• Evening and weekend work availability is required
• Prior Residence Life experience is required

Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt position including housing in our Euclid 117 residence hall. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. CIA offers a benefit package including; paid time off accrual, 13 paid holidays, as well as additional time off while the college is closed during winter break. CIA offers health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, free campus parking, and inter-museum council discounts.
