Junior IT Security Engineer

Join Keystone Solutions as a consultant for a client mission focused on achieving NIS2 compliance within the client's IT department. As a Security Engineer, you will work closely with Infrastructure teams, the Digital Services Center (CDS), and the client's security architect. You will be a key contributor to the technical implementation of cybersecurity measures, covering asset inventory, system hardening, and IT environment security, while supporting projects in the concrete implementation of security requirements defined by architecture and cybersecurity governance. Under the guidance of the client's security architect and in alignment with the cybersecurity and NIS2 roadmap, you will translate security requirements into technical configurations, effective controls, and measurable operational practices. Your role is essential to ensure that measures defined at the strategic and architectural levels are realistic, deployed, and maintained in operational environments. All responsibilities will be performed as a Keystone Solutions consultant at the client site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the inventory of IT assets (systems, applications, services, infrastructure components), in line with NIS2 requirements and risk management needs.
• Implement and maintain hardening measures across environments (systems, networks, identities, endpoints, cloud platforms) according to defined standards and best practices.
• Support project teams in integrating technical security requirements (Security by Design) from the design and implementation phases.
• Support the security architect in the operational rollout of security architectures and solution choices.
• Configure and operate technical security mechanisms: patch management, configuration control, logging, security monitoring, vulnerability management, IAM controls.
• Analyze identified technical gaps (audits, risk assessments, security reviews) and contribute to their remediation.
• Participate in producing the technical evidence required for NIS2 compliance (configurations, procedures, logs, technical reports).
• Collaborate closely with Infrastructure and CDS teams as the technical security reference point.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or Cybersecurity, with significant experience in technical roles (systems, networks, security).
• Solid command of operational IT environments: systems, networks, directories and identities, endpoints, cloud platforms, and monitoring tools.
• Proven experience in securing and hardening IT environments.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and related regulatory requirements, particularly in an NIS2 context.
• Ability to work on cross-functional projects, interacting with architects, project managers, and operational teams.
• Rigorous and pragmatic, solution-oriented, and focused on effective implementation.
• Strong team spirit with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Native-level proficiency in French, both spoken and written. English: passive knowledge.

• The candidate must possess the minimum required skills and experience.
• The mission will be carried out primarily on site in Namur on a full-time basis.
• The candidate must be flexible and potentially travel across various business units in Wallonia to meet with business stakeholders.
• Consulting days are 8 hours within a typical working window of 07:00 - 18:00.
