26-27 BCYC Program Development & Communications VISTA

The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia’s Youth Cycling Program uses cycling as a vehicle for youth development, building confidence, physical health, and life skills in young Philadelphians. We are seeking a motivated Development & Communications VISTA to help grow and sustain this impactful program. In this role, the VISTA will build organizational capacity by raising the program’s visibility and strengthening its financial foundation. The VISTA will develop and execute newsletter and social media campaigns, document youth impact stories, research grant opportunities, and create outreach materials targeting prospective donors and funders. They will also develop an alumni engagement strategy to cultivate program graduates as future volunteers and donors. We are looking for a candidate with strong written communication skills, an interest in fundraising and nonprofit development, and a passion for youth programming. Experience with social media, grant writing, or communications is a plus. This is an ideal position for someone eager to grow their skills in nonprofit development and communications while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people in Philadelphia.

Member Duties : The VISTA will be part of the 26-27 Coach Across America national VISTA cohort of 64 members. The VISTA will develop and publish newsletters and social media content highlighting program achievements and youth stories; research and compile new grant opportunities and draft program narratives; identify in-kind donation sources and support fundraising event communications; create an alumni engagement plan to recruit volunteers and donors; and build a content library of youth impact stories and program data to support donor outreach and funder communications.
