Finance Specialist (m/w/d)

The Opportunity

A well-established, globally connected financial services firm is looking to appoint a Finance Manager to join its Frankfurt-based Financial Control team. This is a hands-on role within a small, close-knit office, supported by a wider international finance function. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the firm's books and records and contributing to a broad range of financial, regulatory and statutory reporting deliverables.

What You Will Do

• Support the month-end accounting close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare financial information under IFRS and HGB (local GAAP) standards.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Contribute to regulatory and statistical reporting, maintaining a sound understanding of the applicable regulatory landscape.
• Prepare meeting packs and financial information for governance forums and management boards.
• Liaise with the global finance team and provide on-the-ground support within the Frankfurt office.
• Support AWV (Aussenwirtschaftsverordnung) reporting and related compliance requirements.

What You Need to Succeed

Essential

• Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken).
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
• Excellent numeracy, analytical and data analysis skills.
• Experience gained within a bank, investment firm or broader financial services environment.
• Proactive, hands-on approach - comfortable working in a lean team and taking ownership of tasks.
• Strong academic background.

Desirable

• Professionally qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA or German equivalent such as Wirtschaftsprüfer / Steuerberater) or working towards qualification.
• Familiarity with HGB statutory reporting and working with external auditors.
• Experience with regulatory reporting frameworks relevant to a German-regulated entity.
