Account Manager, Internal – US
The role of the Account Manager, Internal is to create opportunities to grow business within their assigned customer base, as well as prospecting for and supporting the development of new or high potential customers. Proactively develop outbound opportunities and manage high-value/production accounts with an emphasis on retention. Through managing a portfolio of customers, they will support (and be supported by) other Account Managers in their region and work closely as a team.
The Account Manager would be expected to meet with assigned customers both virtually and in-person while working to sales targets while maximizing both margins and gross sales. The position will require some travel within the US with occasional travel internationally.
There will also be an expectation that the job holder will work with the Regional Sales Manager as well as other members of the sales team and company management to contribute to the strategy and direction of the Sales function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer enquiry, order, and opportunity management.
- Develop and manage sales with current and new customers.
- Proactively identify and respond to potential sales, purchasing or marketing opportunities.
- Grow territory & customers revenue while maintaining or increase average margin percentages.
- Manage the enquiry processing for Cat Extension & Non-Cat products.
- Customer database management within Salesforce.
- Develop Goods In, Packing, and Shipping routines.
- Assist Accounting in Past dues.
- Account accuracy, customer visits, and trade/show activity.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree: scientific discipline preferred (engineering, physics, chemistry, etc.)
- AND / OR sales experience into industries using engineering, physics, chemistry or specialist materials e.g. ceramics, polymers, alloys, metals, etc.
- Excellent presentation skills including writing and editing PowerPoint or Prezi.
- Developing influencing, negotiating and relationship building skills both internally and externally.
- Excellent telephone and listening skills.
- Experience in and willingness to visit customers face to face on occasion.
- Ability to teamwork, drive communication and collaboration, ability to work on own initiative, proactive approach.
- Creative and results driven.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills, ability to extract and analyze data.
- Experience using CRM and analyzing customer data in Excel.
- Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
- Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach.
There is a base salary dependent on experience and company commission scheme.
