About The Role

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Artisan to join our Maintenance team at Ngodwana. This role is critical in ensuring that plant equipment operates safely, efficiently, and without interruption.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, service, and maintain mechanical equipment
• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Troubleshoot and repair faults and mechanical failures
• Work on equipment such as:
• Pumps, compressors, fans
• Gearboxes, conveyors, drives, couplings
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards
• Keep accurate records using a CMMS system
• Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Prepare and clean work areas before and after jobs
• Work shifts and overtime when required
• Support plant reliability and reduce downtime
  

• Trade Test Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter / Turner (Red Seal preferred)
• 3–5 years’ experience post apprenticeship or in a similar environment
• Strong understanding of:
• Mechanical systems and machinery
• Fault finding and troubleshooting
• Experience working with:
• Pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Computer literate (MS Office / maintenance systems)
• Ability to work independently and in a team
