SUMMARY:

Bilnor Staffing Solutions' client in the mining sector is looking for an experienced Cost Accountant for position in Witbank / Middelburg, MP

**South African Citizens and those living in the area will be preferred**

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

Any B.Com degree in Accounting / Finance is required.

Professional qualification (CIMA / SAIPA) will be an advantage.

3–5 years’ relevant cost accounting experience

Experience in a mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment beneficial

Experience With Inventory, Costing, And Margin Analysis Essential

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.

Sage / ERP systems or other accounting packages.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversight Role

• Daily adherence to cost controls and financial governance implemented by

Management

• Monitoring and analysis of store-level costs and operational expenses
• Oversight of inventory valuation, stock movements, and shrinkage reporting
• Ensuring accurate costing information is available to Stores and Buying departments
• Supporting internal customers with cost and margin-related guidance

Core Role

• Act as finance business partner to Stores and Buying departments
• Prepare and maintain accurate product and inventory costing models
• Gross margin analysis and recommendations to Management
• Support Buying with supplier pricing reviews, landed cost calculations, and deal evaluations
• Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for stores
• Identify breakdowns in cost controls and implement corrective action plans
• Align with Stores Manager and Buying Manager to achieve departmental goals
• Create value through cost optimisation and improved decision-making
