If you've spent your career owning real infrastructure for software companies and you're ready to make the foundational architectural calls yourself rather than inheriting someone else's, this is the role.

I'm running a search for a Senior Software Engineer to own platform and infrastructure at a seed-stage AI-native company taking on one of the UK's largest, most operationally broken professional services markets.

There's a working MVP shipping internally. Your job is to take it from prototype to the platform that supports public launch later this year and the next three years of growth, including the M&A roadmap that follows. State machine, workflow engine, API layer, data model. The decisions you make in the first 90 days will compound for years.

What you'll own:

• The architecture: state machine, workflow engine, API layer, data model
• Infrastructure, deployments, CI/CD, scaling from launch to commercial scale
• Security and compliance posture for a regulated business
• The internal tooling the team uses day to day

What's true about you:

• 5+ years building production software at a software company, strong backend
• Fluent with the majority of their stack - Python, FastAPI, AWS, React, Typescript, Next.js
• Have made architectural calls on platforms that needed to be reliable and secure, not just functional
• Use AI tools daily in your workflow and have views on how engineering practice should evolve around them
• Want real ownership at a stage where the decisions you make actually compound

On seniority: Open to candidates who want to stay hands-on as a Senior IC, who want to grow into leadership over time, or who come with leadership experience already.

The team will scale and someone will eventually run it. That might be you, or it might be someone hired above you as they grow. Both work, as long as you're comfortable with the honesty of that now.
