Summary
Tandem Project Management is seeking a Project Manager. The successful candidate will lead and manage projects for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients while also playing an active role in building client relationships, supporting company growth initiatives, and identifying new project opportunities. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working directly with clients, supporting on-site project activities, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the expansion of Tandem’s presence within the US market.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage capital projects for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences clients from initiation through closeout.
- Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and execution activities.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, construction, vendors, contractors, and client stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, risk registers, action logs, and status reports.
- Monitor project progress and implement mitigation plans to address schedule or cost impacts.
- Prepare and review project documentation, execution strategies, technical packages, and construction deliverables.
- Support procurement activities, including bid evaluations, contractor coordination, and vendor management.
- Conduct site walks, audits, inspections, and constructability reviews as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable US safety regulations, client standards, and industry best practices.
- Promote a strong safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives across all projects.
- Provide hands-on support during construction, commissioning, qualification, and startup activities when required.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Support the preparation of proposals, project execution plans, presentations, and commercial submissions.
- Participate in client meetings, networking events, conferences, and industry functions to promote Tandem’s services and capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for additional project support and collaborate with leadership to help grow the business within the region.
- Act as a trusted client partner, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing projects within the Life Sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated manufacturing sectors.
- Proven experience delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build long-term professional relationships.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work both strategically and operationally.
- Experience supporting construction, commissioning, startup, or operational readiness activities is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to client sites within North Carolina and across the US as required.
- PMP certification or similar project management qualification is considered an advantage.
