Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for a seasoned Sr Software Engineer to take ownership of the systems that power my clients research, data and trading technology. In this role, you’ll be the technical driver behind their data and compute platforms designing, improving, and scaling the infrastructure their engineers rely on every day.

Year 1 compensation: $600,000-$925,000 in cash (no RSU/Stock/Equity).

You’ll lead the evolution of their cloud-based environments, manage distributed data systems, and build the tooling that lets our research and engineering teams move quickly without sacrificing stability or security. With several new trading initiatives underway, you’ll have the opportunity to shape a modern platform from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

• Run and enhance their distributed data environment, including Spark-based ETL and large-scale processing workflows.
• Administer and strengthen their cloud foundation across compute, storage, orchestration, and streaming services.
• Build and refine internal deployment tooling to streamline promotion from development to production.
• Maintain observability across environments through metrics, logging, and alerting systems.
• Contribute to internal software projects that improve automation, developer experience, and operational efficiency.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of engineering experience, including deep exposure to software, platform, infrastructure, or DevOps-oriented work.
• Background in FastAPI, Django, Bottle or Flask.
• Practical expertise with Spark or Databricks in production settings.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, S3, EC2, streaming services, IAM best practices).
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Airflow, and modern deployment workflows.
• Solid Python skills
• Experience in financial or data-intensive environments is helpful but not required.
