JOB DESCRIPTION: The following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal.
The Gifted Coordinator will manage the gifted programming in Manitou Springs School District, as well as delivering services to the four schools. At the secondary level we run an advisory program and pull out services at the elementary level.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Executive Director, and in collaboration with districtleadership, facilitate development, submission, and implementation of the Gifted Education.
- Comprehensive Program Plan (CPP), Gifted Budget Annual Report, and the UniversalScreening/Qualified Personnel Grant; and provide consultation on the district's Unified Improvement Plan, as it pertains to gifted students.
- Access and utilize the ESSU data management system (DMS) for gifted education, as well as utilizingstate and district data tools to gather, analyze and present student achievement data.
- Articulate the mission, vision, and goals of gifted education and the AU's gifted education programdesign to stakeholders.
- Ensure that staff is familiar and involved with identification procedures and Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) development. Webinars and professional development materials are available on the CDE websiteand through the GERC.
- Coordinate universal screening within the district.
- Lead district gifted team in the identification, programming, monitoring and support for gifted students.
- Develop and implement a long-term plan for professional development, thereby increasing the capacityof educators to know, understand, and serve gifted students.

- Create, Develop and Manage Advanced Learning Plans
- Develop Parent and Family communication and engagement opportunities
- Attends professional development opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Work primarily takes place in a school setting, with occasional off-site meetings, trainings, or events.
- May require some evening or weekend hours to accommodate school events, meetings, or activities.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt- Certified
