Gravitas are exclusively working with a Higher Education provider that is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support a critical Actian Ingres database upgrade.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a software upgrade project, with a target go-live in October 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the upgrade and migration of legacy systems/software
- Work across multiple project workstreams within a complex delivery environment
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transition from legacy to modern systems
- Analyse and understand existing legacy codebases and architectures
- Assist with troubleshooting, testing, and validation during the upgrade process
- Provide hands-on development support where required
- Ensure project timelines are met in line with the October go-live target
Essential Experience
- Strong background in Actian Ingres and OpenRoad system upgrades
- Hands-on, practical experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to liase with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Contract details
- ASAP start date (can wait until mid-June for the right person)
- 3-month initial contract (huge scope to extend)
- Open to market rates
- Fully remote
- Outside IR35
