ERP Senior Technical Lead
Overview
The ERP Senior Technical Lead is responsible for the technical design, integration, customization, testing, implementation and support of our Epicor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This position requires a combination of business acumen and technical knowledge to understand the complex relationships between applications, data, and business processes. The role will work closely with functional departments and technical peers to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into technical solutions that support the company’s ERP and Data Applications. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert and act as the lead technical resource for Epicor ERP projects, ensuring alignment with Marotta’s architecture, business processes, data integrity, and system performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical implementation, customization, and support of Epicor ERP across Marotta.
- Collaborate with business analysts, functional leads, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy customizations, BAQs, BPMs, SSRS reports, and dashboards within the Epicor environment.
- Manage system integrations with third-party applications and internal systems using Application Programming Interfaces (API), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and middleware.
- Oversee data migration, database maintenance, system performance tuning, and patch/version upgrades.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical specifications, customizations, and system changes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to business partners, analysts, developers and support staff.
- Monitor and enforce security, compliance, and best practices related to ERP systems.
- Participate in and support project planning, budgeting, and implementation activities.
- Collaborate with other analysts and business units to develop and manage processes for Epicor data integration with up/downstream applications.
- Act as the point-of-Contact for continued advancement of the company's use of Epicor technology, establishing best practices within the user community.
- Work with hosting supplier to support our instance of Epicor by coordinating schedule of applying patches and updates.
- Determine and optimize role-based access and put in processes to regularly verify “least-minimum-access” controls are in force and up-to-date.
- Ability to create and maintain BAQs, BPMs, labels through Bartender and dashboards within Epicor. (BAQ = business activity query, BPM = business process management (essentially process documentation and automation).
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Epicor, defining future system needs related to data and application functionality.
- Compile and maintain a technical roadmap of future development activities based on Epicor functionality, company requirements, and user feedback. Be able to support all requests with ROI and articulate the enterprise value to both technical and non-technical leadership.
- Troubleshoot end-user reported problems or coordinate with internal and/or external support if necessary. To include resolving escalated issues arriving from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
- Maintain and curate a library of data models; Design, deploy, and own all aspects of the company's reporting and dashboards allowing for maximum visibility to data that supports decision-making for all functions within the business.
- Suggest modifications to data collection and transformation processes in order to improve data quality and process monitoring.
- Establish, coordinate, and maintain data integrity procedures, processes, and policies that efficiently enhance data integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience with Epicor ERP (preferably Kinetic or ERP 10).
- Strong technical proficiency in: C#, .NET, SQL Server, SSRS, Epicor BAQs, BPMs, and customization tools, REST APIs and Service Connect (or other middleware).
- Experience with ERP integration, data migration, and upgrade projects.
- Knowledge of business processes in manufacturing, finance, supply chain, and/or distribution.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and maintain organization of multiple tasks and projects.
- Experience in developing documentation and procedural guidelines for ERP.
- Knowledge of Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills; comfortable speaking in small or large groups.
- Collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.
- Willing to perform other related duties and assignments as required to support the goals of the project and/or department.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Comfortable working across departments and communicating with non-technical users
- Must be a US Citizen.
Experience
- Experience working ERP systems, preferably within Aerospace and Defense Industries. Epicor experience a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of the following will be a strong plus: Windchill, CADLink, and Visual Studio.
- Experience with business processes in a highly regulated make-to-order/engineer-to-order manufacturing environment.
Salary Range: $127,000 - $143,000/year
