Hours: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Salary Range: $17-$18/hour
The Primrose School of Berkeley Heights is a private preschool providing a premier educational childcare experience with year-round programs for Infants through Kindergarten. We are seeking a warm, organized, and dependable Office Assistant to support our daily school operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Greet every family, child, and staff member in a positive, professional, and welcoming manner
- Answer phones and respond to inquiries courteously and professionally
- Perform data entry involving confidential child and family information
- Support the Leadership Team with scheduling tours, appointments, and follow-up communication with prospective families
- Assist with school operations and facilities-related tasks to help ensure a clean, organized, and efficient environment
- Support daily classroom functions as needed, including covering classroom breaks when necessary
- Assist with kitchen and food service support as needed
- Observe all Primrose School policies and all local, state, and national regulations regarding the health, safety, and care of children
- Assist in other capacities as determined by the Head of School or designee
- Must meet basic requirements of the child care regulatory agency
- Previous office or administrative experience required
- Previous experience working with children required
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Comfortable supporting school operations and facilities needs in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children, classroom support, and emergency situations
