Could you be the full-time Buyer in Saint-Bruno we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement and supplier management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic and collaborative teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our projects by managing supplier relationships, driving procurement strategies, and securing on-time delivery and quality. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, quality, and supply chain teams), lead project negotiations, and oversee supplier performance metrics – and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of preparing and launching requests for quotations with suppliers, but also monitoring procurement project quality, cost, delivery, and technical (QCDT) performance throughout the project lifecycle.
We’ll look to you for:
- Driving the full supplier selection process, including preparing and launching requests for quotations and leading project negotiations
- Monitoring procurement project QCDT and legal project evolution (e.g., first article inspection, business award, product development)
- Ensuring work package sheet commitments are respected
- Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct
- Coordinating projects with all métiers and ensuring on-time delivery and quality, especially during the ramp-up phase
- Supporting commodity strategy by consolidating commodity needs and inputs, actively participating in strategy development, and representing commodities in projects and platforms
- Building and managing supplier relationships, including performance measurement and development in coordination with the supplier quality team
- Assessing risky suppliers and managing mitigation plans
- Monitoring corporate social responsibility engagements and ensuring compliance with Alstom’s code of ethics
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering
- 8-10 years of experience in sourcing or procurement
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit
- Ability to challenge the status quo and drive results
- Rigorous and structured approach to work
- An international mindset
- Fluency in both French and English
- Proficiency in additional languages is an asset, as it facilitates communication with partners, suppliers, colleagues, and international clients

Knowledge of a language other than French is an asset to facilitate communication with our partners, suppliers, colleagues, and international clients. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.
