The Account Manager is responsible for managing the sales efforts in support of our convention center clients located at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, in Washington, DC. We are looking for candidates with a proven background in sales within the live event industry who can bring a drive for success and passion for building strong customer relationships.


Key Job Responsibilities


· Prospecting New Business opportunities in conjunction with the convention sales team.

· Provide audio visual solutions for meetings, events, exhibitors.

· Manage the creation and negotiation of successful event proposals.

· Achieve year over year sales growth.

· Coordinate with the Director of AV Services, Operations Team, and Convention Partners to ensure successful events.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with convention clients and facility partners.

· Work together with the internal team to ensure the event objectives, strategy, and creative requirements are understood and adhered to.


Requirements


· 3+ years of audio visual sales production experience within the meetings / conferences / events / conventions / hospitality industry.

· Proven sales results closing and managing event audio visual projects.

· Prior sales experience in audiovisual, technology or hospitality experience preferred.

· Able to work positively in a fast-paced team environment and deliver results.

· Demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills.

· Ability to demonstrate strong phone sales skills.

· Technical aptitude, computer proficiency and CRM knowledge required.

· Proficient in working on a computer, with strengths in MS Office as well as CRM experience.

· Excellent organization skills.

· Bachelor’s degree or related experience.
