We’re a start-up fintech company with ~80 employees across Canada, the US, the UK, and Europe. Our parent company is based in Canada, reporting under ASPE.
We’re looking for a hands-on Head of Finance, based in Ireland, to support our growing international operations. This role will help manage the consolidated group’s financial reporting from A-to-Z, but also fully oversee the Irish statutory accounts and ensure its regulatory compliance.
Work fully remotely with flexible hours across North American and European time zones, and be part of a scaling fintech that values autonomy, ownership, and growth.
Description
What will you be doing?
- Be our Irish Entity representant
- Prepare and review Irish entity financial statements and coordinate with local auditors and tax advisors.
- Liaise with external consultants, banks, etc as needed, and ensure timely filings and compliance for the Irish entity.
- Prepare the management reporting for the Irish entity.
- Support the Consolidated financials
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for the consolidated group.
- Assist with maintaining and reconciling multi-entity general ledgers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ASPE.
- Support intercompany reconciliations, consolidation entries, and cross-border accounting issues.
- Assist in developing internal controls, process documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate on cash management, FX exposure, and internal treasury operations.
- Assist with the sales tax and corporate tax work on all entities.
- (Nice to have) Contribute to financial planning & analysis (FP&A) activities—budgeting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience,
- Ideally with exposure to multi-entity environments (with consolidations and multi-currency reporting), as well as start up environments.
- Strong understanding of ASPE (or IFRS) and Irish GAAP/statutory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently across time zones (strong organization and time management skills).
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite experience is an asset).
- Bonus: Exposure to FP&A, financial modelling, or management reporting.
