Accountant Hiring Requirements

We are currently seeking an accurate, experienced, and detail-oriented Accountant to join our rapidly growing company. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks including accounts receivable/payable, ledger reconciliation, expense reporting, and audit support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate accuracy, professionalism, and a strong commitment to maintaining our firm’s reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in-person
• Generate and manage billing statements and financial reports
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual audits
• Review and approve employee expense reports
• Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly
• Contribute to forecasting and budget planning sessions
• Ensure full compliance with federal and provincial accounting regulations
• Support the Senior Accountant and collaborate across departments
• Maintain high standards of client service and confidentiality

Requirements And Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an accountant or bookkeeper in a corporate setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license
• Experience with corporate and personal tax filing
• Familiarity with inventory-based businesses
• Prior experience with audits and budgeting
