Verla International is a full-service contract manufacturer in the beauty and personal care industry. We provide turnkey formulation, compounding, filling, and packaging services for leading global and emerging brands.

We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to improve production efficiency, optimize filling and compounding operations, and drive measurable performance improvements on the manufacturing floor.

This is a high-impact, floor-based role — not a desk-based engineering position.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize batching, compounding, filling, and packaging processes
  • Conduct time studies and line efficiency analysis
  • Improve OEE, labor utilization, yield, and scrap rates
  • Troubleshoot issues related to viscosity, emulsions, filling accuracy, crimping, and packaging

  • Lead Lean / continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and process documentation
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D
  • Support capital equipment selection and installation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (required)
  • 3–7 years of experience in cosmetics, personal care, OTC, or related batch manufacturing
  • Experience with emulsions, creams, lotions, gels, or liquid formulations
  • Experience optimizing filling and packaging lines
  • Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • Comfortable working directly on the production floor

Preferred

  • Experience in contract manufacturing (high-mix environment)
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification
  • Spanish language skills

What We’re Looking For

A self-motivated engineer who takes ownership, works cross-functionally, and can translate data into practical improvements that increase throughput and reduce waste.
