About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a hands-on IT Systems Administrator to own day-to-day IT operations while helping scale and secure a fast-growing organization’s infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the go-to internal IT expert—supporting employees, improving systems, and partnering with external providers to keep everything running smoothly.
You’ll play a key role in strengthening IT operations, enhancing security, and driving continuous improvement across both on-prem and cloud environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
IT Operations & Help Desk
- Own and manage the internal help desk (ticket intake, prioritization, resolution)
- Serve as the primary technical resource for employees across hardware, software, and network issues
- Escalate and coordinate with external IT partners when needed
Infrastructure & Systems
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade systems, software, and hardware
- Support servers, workstations, and network environments (cloud + physical)
- Perform routine maintenance, patches, and system updates
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades and buildouts
Network & Security
- Monitor network security and implement best practices
- Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, and access controls
- Manage user access, permissions, and system security
- Support internal security initiatives, including testing and training
Employee Lifecycle & IT Admin
- Manage onboarding/offboarding (accounts, devices, licenses)
- Maintain IT asset inventory and coordinate procurement
- Train employees on systems, tools, and best practices
Continuous Improvement
- Help evaluate, test, and implement new tools and technologies
- Recommend system and process improvements aligned with business needs
- Maintain clear documentation of systems and configurations
Vendor Management
- Act as the internal liaison for IT service providers
- Coordinate support, integrations, and maintenance
- Evaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of experience in IT systems administration, infrastructure, or similar roles
- Strong experience with Windows & Mac OS environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration
- Solid networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, WAN/LAN)
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and VMware
- Hands-on help desk and end-user support experience
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and access management
- Ability to troubleshoot across hardware, software, and network layers
- Experience working with or alongside MSPs is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
