An Intake & Assessment Clinician who excels in this role:
- Demonstrates effective understanding of legal issues associated with assessment/admission for Voluntary vs. Involuntary status, i.e. 72 Hour Hold, EMTALLA and Mental Inquest Warrant processes as defined in state of practice.
- Capable of conducting crisis assessments that includes a mental status exam, suicide and violence assessment, substance abuse assessment, and preliminary diagnosis.
- Maintains patient/family confidentiality and provides sensitive, respectful and compassionate customer service at all times.
- Participates in recurring and as-needed nursing education on the unit, providing targeted training, skills refreshers, and process improvement support in response to identified clinical, operational, or regulatory needs.
- Provides education and training to nursing staff on the intake, referral, and admission process, including collaboration with hospital departments and community partners, understanding medical necessity criteria, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation.

- Education: Master's Degree in Social Work or Bachelor's/Associate degree in nursing pending State requirements.
- Licenses/Certification: Current independent practice scope licensure in state of practice, LMFT, LMFT-A LPC, LPC- A, LPCP, LCSW, LMSW, RN or LPN.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a psychiatric setting. Experience in crisis counseling and crisis evaluations preferred
