Job Title: Senior R&D Engineer – Cardiology / Structural Heart

Location: Radolfzell, Germany


About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior R&D Engineer to join our client's growing team in Radolfzell. This role focuses on the development of innovative medical devices within cardiology, with an emphasis on structural heart solutions. You will play a key role in advancing products from concept through to commercialization, working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the design and development of medical devices for cardiovascular applications
  • Drive product development activities from early concept through design verification and validation
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including clinical, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing
  • Contribute to design documentation in compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA guidelines)
  • Participate in testing, prototyping, and iterative design improvements
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers where appropriate


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in R&D within cardiology (transcatheters are highly preferred, structural heart is also highly sought after, wider cardiology profiles will also be considered)
  • Experience with design controls, verification/validation, and risk management
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing methodologies
  • Project management skills
  • Fluency in English; German is a plus
