LAO Group is seeking a General Manager for their Berwyn area industrial services client. The role will be responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, growth, and team development across all areas of the business. This role ensures alignment between strategy and execution by integrating people, processes, and technology to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
Responsibilities
Business & Operational Leadership
- Own day‑to‑day operations and overall P&L performance of the Residential business unit
- Translate strategic objectives into executable plans, metrics, and priorities
- Establish, track, and act on KPIs related to productivity, quality, safety, and profitability
- Identify operational gaps and implement scalable processes and systems
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and employment regulations
Financial & Strategic Management
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial targets
- Analyze operating results and adjust strategies to drive margin improvement
- Lead cost‑control initiatives while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities, including new services, markets, and efficiencies
- Support long‑term planning, expansion, and service diversification efforts
Team Leadership & Culture
- Build, lead, and hold accountable a high‑performing management and field team
- Partner with HR on workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and engagement
- Coach and develop leaders to support current operations and future growth
Customer, Vendor & Market Engagement
- Ensure high standards of customer service and timely resolution of escalated issues
- Manage key vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement processes
- Shared ownership of marketing and sales functions to support growth initiatives
- Represent the company professionally with customers, partners, and within the community
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in general management, operations leadership, or a related role
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive operational performance
- Strong understanding of business operations, financial management, and process improvement
- Experience with ERP systems or similar operational platforms
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field
- Experience in residential services, field services, facility services or related B to C services
- Experience scaling operations or supporting multi-site growth
- Knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental compliance standards
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
