Key Responsibilities
- Handling employee relations for warehouse and delivery associates (multiple shifts).
- Assist with applicant screening, interviewing, and managing the onboarding process through ATS (Applicant Tracking System).
- Document attendance, PTO, and timecards.
- Respond to general HR/payroll-related inquiries from employees.
- Being familiar with and prepared to assist with employee benefits.
- Document, file, and assist with managing workers' comp claims and FMLA-related issues.
- Coordinate employee disciplinary issues with the HR department for resolution and action.
- Coordinate office activities.
- Assist with hiring and training of new employees
- Assist with general services, including purchasing office supplies, mail distribution, office equipment maintenance and repair, and facility-related issues.
- Gather, organize, and summarize data and information for management reports.
- Implement and maintain general office systems, procedures, and methods, directing a combination of activities.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma.
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources.
- Possess knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources and employee benefits; provide unbiased evaluations to all personnel
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Able to maintain a good working relationship with others.
- Prior HR experience in a distribution center/warehouse environment is a plus!
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products to support business objectives.
- Regularly use moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others, and make presentations to the department or middle management.
- Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive, and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
- Decisions impact the management and operations within a department or business unit. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
- Results are defined; sets personal goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.
- Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.
- Work is primarily sedentary: you must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
- Must be able to lift upwards of 25 pounds.
