Your Role

This exciting opportunity will allow the successful applicants to live and work in beautiful North Queensland, whilst providing professional expertise and leadership to coordinate and support the delivery of high-quality guidance and counselling services in schools across the region. Senior Guidance Officers provide clinical and technical supervision to Guidance Officers, collaborate closely with Principals and regional teams, and contribute to strategic initiatives supporting student wellbeing, inclusion and engagement.
This position services all schools across the North Queensland Region and may require travel to a range of geographical locations, including regional, rural and remote settings, to provide supervision, professional learning and direct support where required.

Responsibilities Include
- Coordinate and support the delivery of guidance and counselling services across schools in consultation with Principals
- Provide clinical and technical supervision to Guidance Officers, including psychoeducational, counselling and behaviour support practices
- Deliver direct guidance services to students where required and support complex case management
- Lead professional development, induction and mentoring programs for Guidance Officers
- Build and maintain effective multi-agency partnerships, including participation in SCAN teams and regional support networks

You are an experienced guidance professional who:
- Demonstrates strong leadership and supervision capability
- Has highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Is confident supporting complex student wellbeing and learning needs
- Works collaboratively with school leaders and multidisciplinary teams
- Shows strong organisational and strategic planning skills
- Opportunity to provide regional leadership and influence system-wide practices
- Work across diverse school communities in North Queensland
