Technical Lead - Full Stack Engineering (P&C Insurance)

Location: Hybrid – Manhattan, New York / Atlanta, GA

Compensation: $140,000-$200,000 base + bonus + 401(k) match + comprehensive benefits


Overview

A leading global property & casualty insurance organization is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead - Full Stack Engineering to drive the development and delivery of modern, scalable insurance applications. This role sits at the intersection of engineering excellence and business impact, playing a key part in building next-generation digital products that support underwriting, claims, billing, and broader insurance operations.


This individual will lead from the front—owning architecture, guiding engineering teams, and delivering high-quality, end-to-end solutions in a fast-paced, transformation-focused environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of full stack applications, from requirements and architecture through deployment and ongoing support
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and reusable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards
  • Act as a hands-on technical leader, contributing to coding, design reviews, and complex problem solving
  • Guide and mentor engineering teams, fostering best practices in software development, code quality, and performance
  • Partner with product, business, and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into impactful technical solutions
  • Drive delivery planning, including estimation, sprint execution, and release management
  • Champion modern engineering practices including CI/CD, test automation, and DevOps methodologies
  • Identify risks and proactively resolve technical and delivery challenges
  • Apply domain knowledge to ensure solutions align with P&C insurance workflows and regulatory requirements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8–10+ years of software engineering experience, with strong full stack development expertise
  • Proven experience leading delivery of complex, enterprise-scale applications
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern tech stacks, including:
  • Back-end: .NET, Node.js, or similar
  • Front-end: React, Angular, or Vue
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • APIs and microservices architecture
  • Relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience designing scalable application and integration architectures
  • Strong understanding of Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and build high-performing teams


Preferred

  • Experience within P&C insurance, including policy, claims, billing, or underwriting systems
  • Exposure to insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, or Majesco
  • Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation initiatives
  • Cloud or architecture certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
